SPRING PRIMARY RECRUITMENT

January 23-27, 2023

Dear Potential New Members,

My name is Georgiana Kobzeff and I am the VP of Recruitment for 2024 Primary Recruitment. Part of my role is to guide all potential new members through the recruitment process, as well as provide them with resources and support so they have a positive Panhellenic experience. I am so excited you are here and interested in joining our community through the Primary Recruitment process this January. This is an incredible opportunity to grow as an individual, meet members in the Panhellenic community, and potentially join the largest female organization on campus.

While we all have a variety of expectations and perceptions going into this experience, I strongly encourage you all to lead with confidence. As a PNM almost three years ago, I was able to grow tremendously throughout recruitment and learn more about myself and my values. I was only able to accomplish this by being confident in myself and being excited about new experiences. It is so important that you embrace yourself and be excited about this new and unique experience. There is nothing more you need to do than accept and embrace your unique self.

With that being said, being a part of the Panhellenic community is an opportunity I am extremely grateful to have. In my time at USD, I have transitioned from being a PNM, a New Member, an Active Member, and now hold a leadership position on the Panhellenic Executive Board. It is an absolute honor to have this role and I hope you know that I am here to support you as both a resource and a friend.

I am so excited for the journey you have to come <3

Love,

Georgiana Kobzeff

Recruitment Eligibility Requirements

To participate in Panhellenic primary recruitment:

  1. All students must complete the primary recruitment registration form on time. Registration is open for approximately two months at the following link: usdpanhellenic.mycampusdirector2.com. Late registration is not available for any reason.

  2. All students must have completed 12 units at USD prior to recruitment and must have at least a 2.70 cumulative GPA at USD. Transfer students in their first semester at USD must have successfully transferred 24 units; after their first semester at USD, transfer students must meet the same 12+ USD unit and GPA requirement as all other students.

  3. All students must complete the New Student Wellness Modules:

    • Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging for Students

    • AlcoholEdu for College

    • Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates

There will be no exceptions made for units completed or GPA. Any concerns, including University accommodations that may impact eligibility, must be addressed to Kristen Reynolds at kristenreynolds@sandiego.edu. After primary recruitment registration has closed, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life will conduct a comprehensive eligibility check and follow up with registered participants as needed.

Can I still participate in primary recruitment even if I have scheduling conflicts?

It depends! We do our best to accommodate conflicts resulting from University programs (such as academic courses, study abroad, transfer orientation, student leader training, and athletic teams), but we usually cannot accommodate personal conflicts.

By sharing recruitment dates far enough in advance, we hope this will assist in you re-scheduling appointments, shifts, student organization involvement, or other obligations. If you have an extenuating circumstance that cannot be rescheduled, please submit the PNM Conflict Submission Form or contact Kristen Reynolds, Panhellenic Advisor, at kristenreynolds@sandiego.edu with any conflicts or concerns no later than January 11, 2024.

While chapters will be notified of any excused absences, please note that having a more limited schedule may impact your ability to attend all events to which you are invited and could impact your ability to be successful in the recruitment process. PNMs are expected to attend all recruitment events to which they receive an invitation; unexcused absences may result in a PNM being released from the process. If your schedule has severe scheduling limitations, you may want to consider participating in COB/informal recruitment instead!
